only can R14-HDS sustain uncompressed HD playback but
at over 350MB/s these systems can easily support (2K)
Digital Intermediate workflow as well. R14-HDS is capable
of providing real-time playback of full-resolution 2K
RGB video at 24 frames per second. |

While
many video storage systems claim to be able to deliver dual-stream
HD performance, they do so with severe operating limitations
and/or restrictions. Some systems require that data protection
and/or storage capacity be sacrificed in order to obtain the
data rates required for real-time HD playback. Other systems
limit playback to 8-bit HD clips or put restrictions on where
the clips can be placed on the storage system. |

R14-HDS includes an integrated suite of powerful management
tools. Using these tools, the embedded RAID controllers
are fully programmable and can be configured for RAID level
0, 1, 10, 3, 30, 5, 50 or JBOD. Further tools allow for
dynamic allocation, re-allocation and expansion of the available
storage capacity. The R14-HDS also supports “hot spare”
disk drives so that RAID protected storage can be automatically
rebuilt; even while the system remains on-line.
