The UltraStor™ RS8-IP is the first, affordable, iSCSI target solution that enables the simple creation of a Storage Area Network (IP-SAN) for effective storage deployment & management across standard Ethernet infrastructures. By combining IP connectivity, volume management and RAID functionality, UltraStor™ RS8-IP represents the core component required to integrate a powerful, consolidated, video workgroup storage network.

In its simplest form, the UltraStor™ RS8-IP allows for the consolidation of the storage requirements for multiple users onto a single, centrally managed, storage appliance. Integrated tools facilitate the creation of virtual “drives” (volumes); the capacity of which can be dynamically re-allocated as required. These volumes can be “mounted” to any station in the workgroup and accessed as local storage by that station. Volumes can also be “released” (un-mounted) and mounted for access by a different user. Since these “drives” are accessed via IP addressing, volumes can be mounted by any workstation on the LAN; or even through the Internet.
